Job Announcement – HERS Rater (Charlottesville, VA)
Think Little, a building science consultancy based in Charlottesville, Virginia,seeks an experienced RESNET Home Energy Rater for a full-time position. Highly qualified candidates will have 4+ years recent experience and 50+ ratings completed. in a real estate market in which more than 75% of new homes received HERS Ratings in 2014, without local, state or utility incentives. Day to day work will include a mix of field work (inspections and testing) and office work (energy modeling and documentation). Proficiency with Rem/Rate and Microsoft Excel is essential. Experience with green building and energy efficiency programs
including EarthCraft, Energy Star, DOE Net Zero Energy Ready and PHIUS+ is helpful. Experience with SketchUp, Wrightsoft’s Right Suite, THERM, PHPP, WUFI, BEOpt and other building science-related software is helpful, but not required. Knowledge of ACCA Manual J, S and D procedures is helpful, but not required.
Think Little will provide in-house as well as outside training opportunities on topics such as advanced diagnostic testing, Net Zero design, HVAC design, thermal bridge modeling and hygrothermal modeling.
